Restaurants, pizzerias and takeout

Restaurant loyalty card, from lunch to dinner.

The 8th meal free, without a paper card lost in a coat pocket. Guests scan the QR code on the table or by the register, the card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and you stamp it from your phone when the check comes.

The reward

A reward that looks generous and costs little.

In a restaurant, money off the check is expensive and doesn't bring people back. What works is rewarding the visit, with a dish or a dessert whose food cost is low. Three formats we see working, from quick lunch to dinner.

8th meal free

For lunch regulars who come back every week: eight boxes, two months. A pizza, a lunch special, a bowl: the reward speaks for itself.

Dessert at 5, a main at 10

Two tiers on one card. The dessert comes quickly and hooks the once-a-month guests; the main rewards the true regulars.

A point per dollar, when checks vary

A coffee alone and dinner for four don't weigh the same. With points, you enter the check amount at the register, the card counts a point per dollar, and the tiers follow.

Write the reward precisely ("any pizza on the menu, extras not included"), or the free meal always becomes the most expensive dish.

At the register

Built for the dinner rush.

Stamps happen when the check comes, with a full room. Everything is designed so it takes two seconds and never lands on the wrong table.

  1. 1They show their cardYour guest opens their Wallet while paying. You aim your phone at the code, like taking a photo.

  2. 2You add the stampThe screen shows who it is and where they're at. One tap to confirm, nothing goes through on its own.

  3. 3Their card updates instantlyThe stamp shows up on their phone, and their lock screen tells them.

The whole team can stampServers and cashiers scan from their own phones, invited by a link. They only see the scanner, not your numbers or your guest list.

One table, one visit eachEvery guest has their own card, and each one gets scanned. Two scans of the same card less than a minute and a half apart count once.

The network drops, the stamp doesn'tIn a basement dining room or at the back, the stamp goes through as soon as the network is back, never twice.

The quiet nights

Fill Tuesday, without discounting Saturday.

Every restaurant has its full nights and its empty ones. The card can talk to your regulars on the nights the room needs them, and sell in advance what they'd eat anyway.

A prepaid book of 10 lunchesFor the offices nearby: ten lunch specials sold at your register, kept in the guest's Wallet. Each lunch is counted off at the scan, and they always know what's left. On the Growth plan.

A scheduled message, and double stampsYou write the message when you have time, and it goes out on the day and hour you choose, in your restaurant's time zone. That evening, you type "2" before scanning: the visit is worth two stamps. Scheduling is on the Growth plan.

What paper can't do

A card that works between services.

The punch card keeps its simplicity. What changes is that it lives on your guest's phone, and it can talk to them.

The new dish, on the lock screen"The fall menu is here" for everyone who carries your card: a useful note rather than a discount. Included from the Essential plan.

Win back the ones drifting awayA regular who stops coming gets a note, automatically, after four weeks or at the rhythm they used to keep. On the Growth plan.

Know who your regulars areHow many cards, how many visits, who comes back and who drops off: the dashboard tells you. Your receipts never did.

Google reviews, at the right momentAfter a few meals, guests get a direct link to your Google listing. The same for everyone, as Google requires. On the Growth plan.

Gift cards

Gift a meal, no paper voucher.

Sell a gift card at the register, for a dish or for an amount. StampyWallet sends it to the person receiving it by email, or by text where texting is available, with the buyer's note. They add it to their Wallet and come spend it with you. On the Growth plan.

Questions

What restaurants ask us.

How many stamps should a restaurant loyalty card have?

Six to ten for weekly lunch regulars: the reward arrives in about two months. For a dinner spot where people come once a month, go with two tiers (a dessert at 5, a main at 10) or points, so the first reward comes quickly.

Points or stamps for a restaurant?

Stamps when the check looks the same each time (a pizza, a lunch special). Points when it varies a lot: you enter the check amount, the card counts a point per dollar, and dinner for four weighs more than a coffee.

Do my guests need to download an app?

No. They scan the QR code on the table or by the register and tap "Add": the card goes into Apple Wallet on iPhone or Google Wallet on Android. Without a Wallet, the same card opens in the browser.

Can I put my reservation link on the card?

Yes. Paste your reservation page address, or your phone number, in the settings: a "Book" button appears on the back of the card, on every plan.

How much does a digital loyalty card for a restaurant cost?

Essential is $29 a month before tax (£19 in the UK, €20 in Europe): unlimited guests, Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, scanning and messages to all your guests. Growth, at $49 (£35, €40), adds scheduled messages, automatic win-back notes, birthdays, Google review requests, gift cards and packages. 30 days free, no commitment, no setup fee.

What happens to the cards if I cancel?

They stay on your guests' phones with their stamps, and you can keep stamping. You can export your guests as a CSV whenever you like.

Your restaurant's card can exist in five minutes.

Long enough to add your logo, write your reward and print the table card. Your first regulars can add it at the next service.
