Grooming salons

Grooming: the owner holds the card, each dog keeps its own schedule.

Updated

Biscuit the poodle comes in every five weeks, Juniper the shepherd every eleven, and sometimes they share a couch. The card follows their owner, counts both at once when they come together, and knows that Juniper being gone for eight weeks is not a lost client.

What loyalty card works for a grooming salon, when the client has four legs?

A card in the owner's name that counts every pet in the household and nudges them on each dog's own schedule: a poodle is back every five weeks, a shepherd every two or three months, and a reminder set for one lands at the wrong time for the other. StampyWallet lives on the owner's phone with no app; you stamp at pickup, two dogs in one scan, and a Book button on the back of the card opens your calendar. As of October 22, 2026, the card costs $29 a month before tax in the US (Essential; €20 excl. VAT in Europe); reminders on each client's rhythm, prepaid packages and gift cards are in Growth, $49 (€40). If your booking software already runs a loyalty program you are happy with, keep it: StampyWallet doesn't take appointments.

A rhythm-based reminder is a message sent to a pet owner when their absence passes one and a half times the usual gap between their dog's grooms, worked out from their own visits. StampyWallet sends it once, to the lock screen, with your salon's Book button.

One household, several pets

Two dogs on the same day, one scan.

One card per owner, not per pet: the owner pays and carries the phone. When Julie drops off both dogs, key in « 2 » before aiming at her QR code; the card moves two stamps, and the visit counts once in your numbers and in her rhythm.

Stamps by the dollar, when sizes varyA Yorkie and a Newfoundland don't take the same afternoon. With « $10 = 1 stamp », a $45 small-dog groom (example) earns 4 stamps and a $90 large dog earns 9: key in the total and the math is done.

Leash in one handPhone left in the car? « Find a customer » in the scanner looks them up by first name, last name, email, phone or the code under their QR.

The pet's name, not yetThe card shows the owner's first name (and last name, if you ask for it at signup). It doesn't store the dog's name or grooming history: your client file stays your record.

Each dog's rhythm

Five weeks for one, eleven for the other: the reminder waits for the right moment.

After four visits, the card knows each client's usual gap, counted in your salon's open days. It sends a reminder once their absence passes one and a half times that gap, and only once. One bound holds it back: never later than double the delay you set, and that is where grooming is different. With no setting, the delay is 30 days, too short for a dog groomed every ten or eleven weeks.

Your words, not oursThe reminder carries the message you write in Settings, plus the line pointing to the Book button once your link is in. With no text, it says: « It's been a while since we've seen you. »

Closed days don't countGaps are counted in open days: your weekly closing days and declared vacations are taken out, so a week off in August nudges nobody.

A regular after four visitsBefore three gaps, your delay decides on its own. A puppy who has come twice is reminded only after that delay, which you set from two weeks to three months.

Appointments

A slot freed up at 6pm, filled by morning.

A cancellation the night before is two empty hours on the table. Paste your online booking link (or your phone number) in Settings: a Book button appears on the back of every card. Then tell everyone who has your card with one message, on their lock screen, right away.

Stamped at pickupYou stamp when the owner collects the dog, not when they book: a no-show leaves nothing on the card, and there is nothing to undo.

Prepaid clients show upA « 5 baths between haircuts » package, rung up on your register, sits in the wallet next to the card and comes off at each visit. Clients who already paid rarely skip. With Growth.

What the card doesn't doStampyWallet doesn't take bookings, send day-before reminders or hold deposits: your calendar handles that, and the card works alongside it.

Gifts

A new puppy, a first groom on someone else.

The neighbor who walked the dog all summer, the friend who just adopted: sell a gift card for a groom or a dollar amount. StampyWallet emails it to the recipient with the buyer's note, and a new owner discovers your salon. With Growth.

Questions

What groomers ask us.

Two dogs and a cat in one household: one card or three?

One, in the owner's name. If they come the same day, key in the number of grooms before scanning: « 3 » adds three stamps in one visit. If they come on different days, each visit is stamped as usual.

Can the dog's name go on the card?

No. The card shows the owner's first name, and last name if you ask for it at signup. The pet's name, cuts and notes stay in your client file or booking software.

A poodle every five weeks, a shepherd every three months: do reminders keep up?

Yes, once you set your salon's delay. Each client is reminded at one and a half times their own gap, but never later than double your delay. At 30 days (the default), a shepherd groomed every eleven weeks would be nudged too early; at 60 days, around week sixteen.

Should I stamp an appointment the client missed?

There's nothing to do: the stamp goes on when you hand the dog back. A no-show doesn't exist for the card, which never removes a stamp on its own.

What reward works when a groom takes one to five hours?

A quick add-on rather than a full groom: a nail trim at the 4th visit, a bath and brush-out at the 8th. If your prices run from cats to giant breeds, count one stamp per $10: the Newfoundland moves faster than the Chihuahua, and that's fair.

Can I sell prepaid baths?

Yes, with Growth: « 5 baths between haircuts » or « 10 grooms », at the price and length you choose (one to twelve months, or no limit). Payment happens at your register; the package goes to the owner's wallet and comes off at each scan.
