Crêperies and crêpe stands

A crêperie loyalty card, from galette to crêpe.

Updated

People come back to a crêperie for the ham-egg-and-cheese galette they know by heart and a salted caramel crêpe they can't get anywhere else. The paper punch card, meanwhile, is in the pocket of another coat. This one lives on their phone and gets stamped when the check arrives.

What kind of loyalty card should a crêperie use?

It depends on what you serve. For a dining room where people order a galette and then a crêpe, a card with two tiers (a dessert crêpe, then a full meal) brings guests back without discounting the menu: StampyWallet keeps it in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, no app, from €20 excl. VAT a month in Europe ($29 in the US) as of October 22, 2026, with a free first month. Scheduling a Chandeleur message needs Growth (€40, $49); takeaway crêpes are ordered at the counter or by phone. If you mostly run a market stand, a simple card, one stamp per crêpe, is enough.

StampyWallet is a paperless loyalty card for independents, crêperies included. A QR code on the table or by the griddle is all it takes: the card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, no app, no account. When the check comes, you stamp each card from your phone; the back of the card can carry your booking link.

Two tiersA dessert crêpe on the 5th meal, a full galette on the 10th: one gift early, another worth the trip.

The whole tableEveryone scans the table's QR code with their own phone and leaves with their own card.

Book from the cardYour booking link or phone number on the back of the card, right under the thumb.

The reward

What reward should a crêperie offer?

A crêpe, a galette, a meal: what comes off your griddle costs little in flour and butter, and it's exactly what people come for. Three setups, switchable whenever you like; cards already handed out follow along.

A crêpe on the 5th meal, a galette on the 10th

Two gifts on one card. The butter and sugar crêpe comes early and earns a second visit; the full galette rewards your Friday regular.

The 8th crêpe free, at the window

For the market stand or the takeaway window: one stamp per crêpe, and the eighth is on the house. Readable from the sidewalk.

One point per dollar, when checks vary

For example, a crêpe at 50 points and a galette-and-crêpe meal at 120. The family ordering four meals moves faster than the one-sugar-crêpe customer.

Spell out the reward ("one galette complète: ham, egg, cheese"), so the free galette doesn't turn into the flambéed scallop special.

When the check comes

Cash on the saucer, stamp on the phone.

The galette's gone, so is the crêpe. When the table asks for the check, everyone takes out the phone they pay with: you scan their card on the way, before bringing the change.

  1. Caramel Salé loyalty card in the Wallet, 6 of 10 stamps, ready to be scanned

1The check, and the card with itYann opens his Wallet next to his bank card. Your phone reads the QR; nothing else to set up in the dining room.

  2. 2Six out of ten, then sevenThe scanner shows his first name and what he has left. You confirm with a tap, and only when you tap.

  3. The same card after the scan: 7 of 10 stamps

3He sees it before putting his jacket onThe notification crosses his lock screen and the card updates in the Wallet.

One card per guestEach guest adds their own with the table QR, and you scan the phones one after another. Whoever pays for everyone can also get several stamps at once.

Dining room and windowThe same card works for a sit-down meal and a crêpe to go: one more stamp, at a table or at the window.

The Saturday rushTwo scans in a row by mistake only add one stamp. And in the scanner, "Find a customer" pulls up a card by first name when the phone stayed in a jacket.

La Chandeleur

February 2 is your night.

La Chandeleur is France's crêpe day, and in 2027 it falls on a Tuesday, a night when the room isn't always full. Tell your cardholders a few days ahead, with a note that leads to booking, and let everyone else take their crêpes home.

The message, scheduledWritten at the end of January, it goes out the Saturday before, at the hour you pick, between 7am and 10pm. Scheduled messages are part of Growth; a message sent right away is in every plan.

Book, on the back of the cardPaste your link (your booking tool, Instagram, WhatsApp) or your number into the card's contact details: a Book button appears on the back. A Wallet notification can't carry a link, so the text invites people to open the card.

Takeaway crêpes, by phoneA dozen crêpes to pick up on the evening of the 2nd: the message invites people to order them at the counter or by phone ahead of the day, so you know sooner how much batter to make.

Cider

The cider stays on the drinks menu, not on the loyalty card.

A galette without cider is rare; a free glass of cider as a reward is risky. Rules on alcohol promotions and free drinks vary from state to state and country to country, and many restrict giveaways tied to purchases. A loyalty card and its notifications are marketing: keep the crêpe on it, not the cider.

A reward you eatA salted caramel crêpe, a galette, a dessert: it brings people back just as well and raises no questions. It's also the reward that works for the whole table, kids included.

Messages with no alcohol in themThe notification announcing La Chandeleur talks about crêpes and booking. Your new farmhouse cider is for the chalkboard and the server.

In doubt, askFor a specific case (an event, a meal deal with a drink), check with your state's alcohol authority or a lawyer. StampyWallet doesn't replace that advice.

The gift card

A crêpe dinner to give.

A gift card for a meal (galette and crêpe for two) or for an amount, for a birthday or a thank-you. It goes out by text or email with the buyer's note, lands in the recipient's Wallet and gets used the night they book. On the Growth plan.

Questions

What crêperie owners ask us.

What reward should a crêperie loyalty card offer?

Two tiers work well: a dessert crêpe on the 5th meal, a full galette on the 10th. The first gift comes quickly, the second rewards the regular. At a takeaway window, a simple card (the 8th crêpe free) reads better.

Can I offer a glass of cider as a reward?

We advise against it. Alcohol promotions and free drinks are restricted in many places: US rules vary by state, and in France the loi Évin strictly limits alcohol advertising. A loyalty card and its messages are marketing, so reward with a crêpe or a galette, and for a specific case ask your state's alcohol authority or a lawyer.

A table of four: one card or four?

Whichever you prefer. Each guest can add their own card from the table QR, and you scan the phones one by one at checkout. Or whoever picks up the check gets several stamps at once: you type the number before scanning their card.

How do I fill the room on Chandeleur night?

Let your customers know a few days ahead: a message to everyone is available on every plan, and with Growth you schedule it for the day and hour you choose, up to two months out. If your booking link is on the back of the card, the message can invite people to book from the card. For crêpes to go, the same message can invite people to order at the counter or by phone.

Does the card work for takeaway too?

Yes, it's the same card: one stamp per crêpe at the window, one per meal in the dining room, or one point per dollar everywhere if you'd rather count spend. The customer has a single card wherever they buy.

What does it cost for a crêperie?

As of October 22, 2026: Essential at €20 excl. VAT a month in Europe ($29 before tax in the US, £19 in the UK), with the card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, scanning, unlimited customers and the message to everyone. Growth at €40 ($49, £35) for scheduled and group messages, win-backs for customers who stopped coming, gift cards, birthdays and Google review requests. First month free, no commitment.

Your card can be ready before La Chandeleur.

The logo, the free crêpe, the QR code on the tables: five minutes. Your next guest adds it while waiting for their galette.
